Leoma Has been making jewellery since 2008, developing her collections and unique style that is available to purchase from the online shop, craft events and galleries.
However, if you would like to commission something extra special and completely personal, I would love to hear your ideas so please get in touch.
There are many types of bespoke jewellery that I can create for you. Here are some examples of commissions remodels and repairs.
Repurposed Jewellery
Creating new jewellery from old jewellery. This can be used for a sentimental gesture, passing jewellery down through the family, up-cycling old into something new. Reusing metal and gemstones can be a great way to also save money too. Metal can be melted down and re-used or scrapped and offset against the cost of the piece. stones can be cut and re-polished if damaged to look like new.
Custom Jewellery
Custom jewellery can be designed from scratch, a mixture of designs or adding your own spin onto one of my existing designs to make it special to you. No Job is too small. Custom jewellery means you get exactly what you want. Mark a special occasion or milestone in your life, even design your own engagement ring. The possibilities are endless.
The Process
Below outlines the basic approach I adopt for bespoke pieces. The length of time to create your bespoke piece varies and will be discussed with you during our meeting when I have a better understanding of the scope of the project.
Booking
First get in contact and book a meeting, this could be a call, video call or meeting in person. Whatever your ideas I would love to hear them.
I will ask you to email or WhatsApp over any imagery of pieces you like or ideas that you have so that we can go through these.
Meeting
Either we can meet or still talk over email/WhatsApp. If you have Heirloom jewellery or gem stones that you would like to incorporate these can be shown at the meeting. By the end of this we should have a solid idea of design and budget. You may be required to pay a small deposit at this time but not always essential.
Design
This may be in the form of images, notes , sketches or CAD drawings, You will have opportunity to make alterations, ask questions and choose compositions. At this step or just before we will choose stones, I will source these to work within the budget, or incorporate your own.
Make
I will now start to make your forever jewellery. Either melting down your existing metal or making something from new. with the CAD process I can often produce a printed resin of the piece that you can try on before it’s made or finished. Finally you have your finished piece. This will then be given to you in person or posted by secure insured delivery.
